Chocolate Wasted Gravy Recipe (8.30.12 – Day 18) Vegan Chocolate Gravy

Chocolate gravy is something that I had just this one time and it left enough of an impression to let me know that I never needed to taste it again. The vegan chocolate gravy tasted fine, but I think it was a texture issue. A little chalky with the cocoa powder and flour. Plus, I am a sweets and sugar girl to the core, and I really don’t want chocolate near my savory food.

Vegan Chocolate Gravy Recipe

2/3 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup sifted unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
pinch of salt
4 tablespoons vegan butter
2 cups almond milk

In a small bowl, whisk together raw sugar, cocoa powder, unbleached all purpose flour, and salt.

Heat a skillet over low heat and melt the vegan butter.

Once the vegan butter is melted, add in the dry ingredients. Whisk until everything is evenly moist.

Pour in cold almond milk. Whisk for 5 – 7 minutes to produce a thick, silky, luxurious vegan chocolate gravy without lumps.
